Langkawi International Maritime and Aerospace Exhibition (LIMA) brings together the latest technology and products from the aerospace industries. LIMA is now established as one of the major airshows in the world. As a biennial event, It will be held at the Mahsuri International Exhibition Centre (MIEC), only a stone's throw away from Langkawi International Airport.

A brainchild of Malaysia's former Prime Minister, Dr Mahathir bin Mohamad, LIMA series of exhibition has proven to be an excellent platform for aerospace manufacturers and related industries to display and promote the latest aerospace technology to senior Government officials, both civil and military and leaders of industries from Malaysia as well as the Asia Pacific region. It represents a unique showcase for both the aerospace and maritime industries in the fast-expanding Asian commercial aviation, airport and defence markets.

What began in 1991 with the aim of making Langkawi as the venue for light and experimental aircraft to fly unhampered by heavy traffic modelled after the EAA AirVenture in the USA, LIMA is now on the world's airshow calendar where major players cannot afford to miss. Unlike anywhere in the world a four-hour flying display is held daily throughout the show and is a definite crowd puller.

This year's edition of the Langkawi International Maritime and Aerospace Exhibition promises to deliver another exciting and impressive lineup of the latest jet fighters, warships and other related products from reputable manufacturers that come from all corners of the world. By participating in LIMA 2011, scheduled to be held from 6 - 10 December 2011, these manufacturers would be able to display their wares and products on a reputable international platform.

The Langkawi International Maritime an Aerospace Exhibition (LIMA) 2011 receives strong support from the Government of Malaysia and has seen billions of dollars worth of contracts and business deals signed over the years. Approximately 300 companies from the aviation and maritime industries are expected to participate at LIMA 2011 together with hundreds of aircrafts, warships and vessels fully equipped with the latest technology and gadget. The event would also see more than 30,000 trade visitors as well as thousands more from the general public. They would be entertained by exciting shows and aerial display from world-class instructors.
