Allah, the Most Gracious and the Most Merciful inspired the bees to make hives and produced honey which is a nutriment and medicinal for mankind. There are nearly 20,000 known species of bees in seven to nine recognized families, and the actual number is probably higher. They are found on every continent except Antarctica, in every habitat on the planet that contains insect-pollinated flowering plants. Bees are adapted for feeding on nectar and pollen, the former primarily as an energy source and the latter primarily for protein and other nutrients. In Islam, there is an entire Surah in the Noble Qur'an called al-Nahl (the Honey Bee) and the existence of bee was mentioned in verses 68 & 69. According to hadith, Prophet Muhammad صل اللة علية وسيلم strongly recommended honey for healing purposes.
"And your Lord inspired the bee saying: “Take your habitations (make hives) in the mountains and in the trees and in what they erect: (An-Nahl 16:68)
“Then eat of all the fruits and follow the ways of your Lord made easy (for you)”. There comes forth from their bellies, a drink varying colour , wherein is healing for men. Verily, in this is indeed a sign for people who think. (An-Nahl,16:69)
Therefore, to enhance our thought, the following verse is narrated in the Noble Quran :
الَّذِي لَهُ مُلْكُ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالأرْضِ وَلَمْ يَتَّخِذْ وَلَدًا وَلَمْ يَكُنْ لَهُ شَرِيكٌ فِي الْمُلْكِ وَخَلَقَ كُلَّ شَيْءٍ فَقَدَّرَهُ تَقْدِيرًا (٢)
He to Whom belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth, and Who has begotten no son (children or offspring) and for Whom there is no partner in the dominion. He has created everything, and has measured it exactly according to its due measurements.(Al-Furqan 25:2)
Bee colonies are established t by groups known as "swarms", which consist of a mated queen and a large contingent of worker bees. This group moves en masse to a nest site that has been scouted by worker bees beforehand. Once they arrive, they immediately construct a new wax comb and begin to raise new worker brood. A colony generally contains one queen bee, a fertile female; seasonally up to a few thousand drone bees or fertile males and a large seasonally variable population of sterile female worker bees.

There are 24 different breeds of the common "honey bee" (Apis mellifera.) These insects have a highly organized social structure in which each bee has a specific function-worker, drone, or queen. There is only one queen bee per hive (except occasionally at the end of a queen's life when she becomes non-reproductive and a daughter takes over as queen, stinging the old queen to death.) The queen has several distinct characteristics that set her apart from her workers, which are all female, and the drones, which are male.
Honey is the complex substance made when the nectar and sweet deposits from plants and trees are gathered, modified and stored in the honeycomb by honey bees as a food source for the colony.

The bee colonies is an example of a system based on the idea of monotheism (tawhid) which encompasses the orientation of a particle. The queen bee is the center of existence, surrounded and defended by the worker bees. They move as a unit in form of swarm. In the Muslim prayers we are commanded to face the same direction wherever you are, toward the Kaabah, Masjidil Haram, Makkah. The circumambulation (tawaf) process during hajj and umrah pilgrimage we can see similar system adopted as one of the obligatory pillars. To know Allah, we must seek His Creations, and it is beyond our capability to seek His physical being.
